mouse freezes in windows xp, part 2

:question:
my mouse freezes everytime i turn on either the CAPS Lock, NUM Lock or Scroll Lock keys.. dont know why. the device manager didnt detect any errors..

my system is ECS mobo Celeron 1.7Ghz, 256MB DDR, and GeForce 2 MX400 64MB.
my OS is Windows XP Pro 32-Bit..


please help me what to do..


ADDENDUM:
im using a standard 102-key PS/2 keyboard and a Genius 2-button PS/2 mouse for input..
an issue could be that both are almost a year old, but i still keep my options open whether it is possible to fix the trouble, before thinking of buying new ones...

Have you checked the Event Log??

If you have a spare mouse and/or keyboard, swap them to see what happens...

Do you have your memory or processor overclocked? It's definately not your mouse or keyboard, it sounds to me like it's coming from the motherboard. Possibly an interupt request conflict. If your CPU is overclocked set it back to stock speed and than see what happens.
