CPU upgrade

I am stuck with an old am2 board, so my only option is a faster amd x2.

This is saying "new" on newegg, besides the 3.1ghz what is special about it? I don't think its the black edition where the multipliers are unlocked for overclocking, but I could be wrong...

yeah my 5000+ is great, gets about 3.3Ghz stable havent seen any go further than that before.

The 5800+ is also pretty good

any BE chip will be good besides the 6000+ just make sure its 65nm and be and you will be set for a nice overclock.

I'lll prolyl go with the black edition and OC to like 3.0ghz or something. I read on a review this guy needed a BIOS update? Is it likely I will need one? Cuz if so I have NO idea what to do.

black edition. I'm trying so hard to get to 3.4GHz on my 5000+. I will one day and be stable.
