I've noticed lately that US laptops far higher in spec are as low priced as a medium spec UK laptop, obviously mainly due to the current exchange rate. Can you use a US laptop in the UK- if so, what would you need and is it reliable and safe to use here?

Thanks

Yes. There aren't any compatibility issues.

The only main issue is the power adapter supplied. You'll need to buy a converter so that you can plug it up to a UK power outlet.

Note that some notebooks don't come with worldwide warranty, but warranty only for the country or continent from which it was purchased.

So what does that mean? As in, you can't use the US adapter? But can you get something to make it work in the UK, as the guy said above?

Also, is it expensive to get? And where do I get it from?

Liamando, Maplins or currys is a safe bet for the adapter maplins is 100% certain currys has them but there way over priced an are odd to find in stock.

You don't need a new power brick, you just need a us to uk plug adapter.

also by default wifi APs tend to use channel 6 and most people don't take the time to change that, so it isn't a big deal.
