I thought about dropping down to an e8500 but now that i'm playing Warhammer, it actually uses all 4 cores, so i'll be sticking with the q6600.

well I'm offered a E8500 plus $20 and he pays shipping. If it did 4.8-5.0ghz benchable I'd take it but it only goes to 4.67

4.67 is just about where i was stuck... after that its incredibly hard to keep stable

ive never seen a e8500 do 5.0 ive seen them tap out at 4.7 and no further, also for quads nos you can push them to abotu 500fsb its hard but possibly done, im at 450 with ease, i just need better coolign before i go any higher. i be on water i could get my q6600 to 4.0

4.0ghz is only 445 w/ a 9 multi.. and i've achieved that without a problem with my q6600 and q6700

what i'm concerned with is 8.5 and 8 multi's needing **** close to 500 to hit 4.0 ghz.... and 4.0ghz isnt what i want!!! i want higher!

So buy an 8600 Its a 10x multi.
