password protected user files

I have a PC with XP Pro which has went belly up on me, I need to access the data files of a couple of the user accounts on the machine. I can get access to them by using the repair option on windows setup, but the DOS like commands wont accept wildcards. As there are a few files, it will take quite a while to do it this way. Does anyone know of a way, or of any software which I can use to get at these files ????

If you have access to another computer, you can always attach that hard drive as a slave drive to pull the files.

If you have admin rights.. you should be able to access the files by going to c:\documents and settings

I think you can transfer full ownership of the accounts to youself to overide the protection. you have to first turn on advanced file sharing mode. Otherwise try taking those files using knoppix.
