Buying new CPU + mobo vs. new videocard

Yes - Seloce just popped in a light bulb.

After some researching, my old mobo happens to support PIII processors up to 1.13 GHz, so I may consider that, and buy a new videocard as well.

Thanks. :)

Haha, speaking of just upgrading one part and leaving the rest lagging behind, I had to set up a computer for a LAN party real quick and all I had available was a PII 350, so I chucked a Geforce4 ti4200 in there.. it actually runs pretty decent, I've been playing BF1942 and C&C Generals on it without too much lag :)

Well thats odd, there is no way that that processor can feed the card fast enough. Never seen that. I did something similar to that, with a P2 also and it just froze up a lot and lagged very bad, looks like we found an exception.

Yeah, it's 100% CPU-limited.. turning on AA and AF has no effect on the performance at all since the GPU is constantly waiting for the CPU to feed it more information. Plus the motherboard only supports AGP 2x, so that's another major bottleneck.
