im a college student, but the family is moving here and so i'll be livin with them 2 cut costs...they have a 360 and wii so i was thinkin of a PS3....

but id prefer a PC cuz i am in a clan (same group for 4 years) and my lappy cant play cod4 well.

Ah, I see. Yes, a $500 rig should be able to handle CoD4 with ease, then.

Yeah, COD4 isnt too demanding. And like everyone said, the 4670 is a lot better than the 3650 and you can Crossfire another one in the future.

The GSO is no longer available. I'm gunna go with something EVGA so I can upgrade later without having to completely pay for something new.

Which one?

Newegg.com - EVGA 256-P2-N751-TR GeForce 8600 GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Newegg.com - EVGA 512-P3-N954-TR GeForce 9500 GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

i see the memory is slower on the 9500GT. Will that make a big difference?

um, you can still get the 9600gso. Don't get that other junk like a 8600gt. And I don't think two 4670 in sli would beat a 4850. So.... O and the 9500gt is 128bit (unlike the 9600gso which is 192bit) so don't get that either. Performance wise it is as follows: 9600gso, then 9600gt, then 8800gt, then 4850. Both those cards you suggested are behind all cards listed. And seeing as the 8800gt is pretty much the same price as a 9600gt get a 8800gt if you wanna spend a bill other wise get the 9600gso.

And I don't think two 4670 in sli would beat a 4850.

Actually it does perform the same and does out perform a single Ati 4850 in quite a bit of games. But because not all games scale well with crossfire it can also be a waste. So if you only have around 80$ on you and can't wait, you should pick up a 4670 and Crossfire later. But if you have the money for the Ati 4850 now, it'd be a better idea to go with that instead.
