mouse freezes in Windows XP

my mouse freezes everytime i turn on either the CAPS Lock, NUM Lock or Scroll Lock keys.. dont know why? the device manager didnt detect any errors..

my system is ECS mobo Celeron 1.7Ghz, 256MB DDR, and GeForce 2 MX400 64MB. my OS is Windows XP Pro 32-Bit..


please help me what to do..

first you should try another keyboard and/or mouse

Maybe an IRQ problem. I had a problem with this lady's computer where if i had both the mouse and keyboard plugged into the ps2 connectors and i tried to type something the mouse and keyboard would freeze. I took the ps2 adapter out and plugged the mouse into the usb and it worked. You can try that, or just get a new mouse/keyboard.

Uh...What kind of mouse is it?
Also, what other kinds of input devices do you have (or have used) on that machine?
These are important questions.
