Computer freezing ?????

My computer is freezing up while running any program(s). This may sound a bit caveman like but a quick slap on the case usually brings it back to life.

What could the problem be? Bad connections on a card. Slow fan?

I installed new Crucial Ballistix 2GB (1GBx2) DDR500 PC4000 184-pin Gaming Memory BL2KIT12864Z503 the first of the year.

Someone mentioned a hard drive going bad. I'm running two identical WD drives in raid-1 config.

Give me some idea's and I'll give it a go. Or I guess I can just slapping the thing.

um I don't know about the slapping thing. Sounds like a connection is loose to me. Check and make sure the ram is properly seated. What does everybody else think? would running prime95 and seeing if the ram had a error help. (I guess he could run memtest).
