logitech optic mouse works in reverse

I have just inherited a logitech optic mouse and although it seems to work the cursor moves in the opposite direction in which I direct it. I have to turn the mouse toward me just so that it will work normally. I downloaded new drivers I even updated my bios, nothing. I figure now that the mouse must be dirty but, how do you clean an optic mouse? Any suggestion? thanx

Really can't clean an optical mouse. Go into your windows settings (control pannel) and check your mouse settings.

Have you removed any previously installed mouse drivers so that they are not conflicting with the new mouse? Have you installed the logitech software and made sure that you dont have a settings set to inverse movement?
