get a maximus 2 formula!!! they look so sexy. also the biostar is a wise choice. my 750iftw is actually preaty good, i just havent learn how to use it completely yet. but on my maximus formula i had the highest stable clock for the q6600 on the entire forum.

I'm not saying it can't be done. Sure there are good ones. But the likely hood you get one of those isn't that great. Experience tells us that its more likely you will burn out the mobo. Chances are the cpu wont be killed which is good. But you will have a bad day none the less.

And what is great about a 400mhz fsb when all P45s can get 600 and some can get 700?

Yes it is. As far as OC potential is concerned its your best bet man. It has the OC world record by a fair margin. Apparently it doesn't do as well with the 65nm ones as the 45nms, so I would grab a wolfie or a Yorkfield.

Get yourself some good WC cooling, you can do wonders.

They only ran a fsb of 400 for that overclock. The Biostar I45 holds the world record with a 725mhz fsb on phase change and will do 600+mhz fsb on air.

Anyways I recommend the QX9770, even though its a bit of a power sucker, but its faster clock per clock and whatnot
