Dvd/Cd-Drive Open Upwards?

what up all, well here's my idea i wanna stick my dvd/cd drive upwards and in order to to that i gott cut a fair ammount of metal out of the front of the chasis and i wonderin if i would have to reforce it, so it doesnt tilt.

i think he means he wants it to open out of the top of the case. ?
if so, it depends on how thick the metal of your case is. DVD drives are light, so probably not.
