Increasing Mouse Scrolling Speed?

I have a microsoft mouse and the scrolling speed is pretty slow on the vertical scrolling on the my mouse wheel. I tried going to Control Panel > Mouse using Windows Vista Home Premium and setting the scroll vertical speed number to 9 but that didn't seem to do anything. I take it that its just a general computer knowledge to set your mouse's scrolling speed in which I want to know how to do. How do you make your mouse scroll faster using the wheel on vertical pages on the websites and such

I would try updating the driver for your mouse and then go in and change the sensitivity setting.
