Most definitely bad... I'm guessing that the no POST is heat related... are you sure you plugged in the CPU Cooler's fan into the CPUFAN1 Port of your board?

My case is cold, my video card is cold, my computer would be cold if it weren't for that little premature volcano in my motherboard.
I think its because I'm using the standard heat sink with no extra thermal grease. And yes I'm going to the store right now to get some.


EDIT: if you mean my CPU fan is running, then yes.

I'm feeling REALLY noobie and nervous, but in all logic Thermal grease will correct this problem right?

I was getting 66c with both cores fully loaded using the stock Intel heatsink. The temps dropped to 56c(47c idle) after installing a cheap Rosewill heatpipe.

Sounding like I should not only remove and apply new thermal grease, but get a new heatsink...

Ok. I applied thermal grease along with a new heatsink, the name escapes me atm I grabbed the first LGA775 that looked good. I'm idling at 22c! And my CPU is registering correctly now. Thanks for all the help people!
