Beginner Case question

Alright so I'm in the process of planning my first computer build. My question is, are all the inputs on the back of a mother board (keyboard, mouse, USB) set in a standardized arrangement. A book that I have says that cases come with multiple faceplates to work with different mobds but I just want to be sure. Right now I'm planning on getting a Intel 865Perll MoBd and a Lian Li PC-60 case.


Sorry if this is a really boring question. If there is a better forum for beginners to post to let me know.

Your motherboard will come with a face plate.

yeah, I just got mine today and was suprised to see a plate. I always thought it was embedded on the back o' the case.

Those are the hardest things to rip off of those damn cases. I like the fact that most mobo's comewith the plates but ripping the old ones off is a f'ing chore.

Even better is when you're taking the pci slot covers off and the back of the case starts to bend.

I removed the floppydrive cover and my entire floppydrive startet to stretch and bend.

Yeah those plates are a pain in the a$$, I just got a screwdriver and slammed it as hard as I could at it, and it popped off.
