The port numbers are listed in your motherboard manual, on the motherboard itself and in BIOS.

It's easier to just look on the board itself, or in the motherboard manual. That way you can see right away.

Keep in mind, sometimes SATA ports start with 0, and others the first port is 1. Just depends on the manufacturer.

If you have lost your manual, and rubbed the markings off your mobo, and the bios is being ghey, you can always use the manufacturer's website.
