Bad GPU Idle temps

My GPU idles at around the 70-80 mark which isnt great. I know that they get hotter than other components but at idle??? C'mon.

Fan speeds at 40%, I would like to increase it, but ive heard this reduces the fan life the more you turn it up??

Any suggestions on how to improve it. My case has good airflow. 12cm at the front, 12cm at the back and 6cm side panel fan.

It does reduce the life a little but are you really going to run your video card for over 30,000 hours (average life of a sleeve bearing fan, which translates into over 3 years) before getting a new one? I've had my 8800GTX for about 2 years now and it's been running at 100% the whole time.

I'm going to agree.. most people sell their card before it would have its fan normally die off.. CRANK UP THE SPEED!
