On a new drive, creating a partition and then creating a logical drive come before formatting.

Thanks guys. It's formatting now. How long does this take?
Also if I move all my music and video game files to this folder will they still work? Also I registered "The Witcher" online. If I moved it to this new drive would it still recognize my file so that I can get the "enhanced edition" for free?

No they will NOT work. Many games install files all over your hard drive so if you move them, other files say in your Documents folder, will look in the games original location and find that they aren't there. You would need keep your save files, uninstall the games and reinstall them to the new drive.
