Dead drive?

Went to my computer and my D:/ drive wasn't there which is my DVD burner. then i restarted and it burnt a Disc i had saved. but when i try to read any kind of movie or DISC of anything my computer will lock up bad where i gotta turn off the whole PC. it wont read anything and it just keeps locking up? it just started this last night. befor then it read and burnt stuff with no problem. i just ordered 2 more Drivers so hopefully its the drive

It could be a defective drive. The laser that burns discs is a different laser that reads them. So it is possible that a drive can burn discs and be defective. Are any of the burned discs readable on other drives?

Sizco why did you create a new thread for this? Just post in your other one.

Try reinsalling the drivers for it.
