I'm so happy! Here's a severe run-on sentence that summarizes why: I dl'd this prog called cpu-z from someones signature here to see what info it would tell me about my hardware and it actually gave me my mobo model number which I then searched for on the forum to see if there was anything about OC'ing and in one of the posts and I ended up finding out that it is socket 370 so I decided to look for socket 370 cpus and I found this beauty for $45 https://secure.computerasset.com/advert.asp?id=214&refer=pricegrabber . It would be a 64% increase in clock speed. All in all...*droool*. Best part is, I'm going to be quite low on "cache" for the next few months (high school soccer=miniscule time to work) and my mom said she'd pay! I knew it was a long shot, but she's been making more money lately, and it worked!
Quick question though, is it compatible? I'm 99% sure it is, but thats just me.
The mobo: Intel D815EEA
Current CPU: PIII Coppermine socket 370
Prospective CPU: OEM Intel Pentium III 1.13 GHz Processor w/256k cache. 133MHz Bus speed, FCPGA linked here: https://secure.computerasset.com/advert.asp?id=214&refer=pricegrabber
