When you go to 24" the native resolution goes up, making it harder for the card to handle it. the 9600 should handle 1680x1050 just fine.

Contrast is over rated. Color reproduction is more important to me. Which is one reason i wont buy a TN panel. Cant wait until i sell off some of my parts to pick up a 30" samsung :D

I got this high end monitor, Newegg.com - LG W2252TQ-TF Black 22" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 10000:1 - LCD Monitors

Its quite nice for what you are trying to spend 3000:1 REAL CONTRAST RATIO, Dont be tricked by those 10000:1 dynamic, not sure what that really means, most of those monitors have like a 1000:1 contrast ratio anyways.

so, would this make sense? i raelly dont know much about monitors, just that i had to pick up my jaw off the floor after seeing one that was made in the last 4 years... i have roughly $465 to spend at amazon. i can always kick in a few more dollars if it was truely worth it...
