Just installed my new Seagate 200 Gb IDE hard drive into Pyzchob!tch. I needed to flash the motherboard BIOS to get it to detech the full size under the BIOS, but now i have the problem with Windows Xp Pro only Detecting 127Gb (or 137 394 356 224 bytes) of the hard drive.

I have created the partition with using Partition Magic 8.

According to my calculactions, I should be seeing about 195Gb (or there abouts).

Any one can help me gain more hard drive space on my 200 Gb Hard Drive?

Does any one know of any patches or unpgrade for Partition Magic 8 that might assist me in this?

#1 update all XP available updates.
#2 Update to latest bios (yes... flash it!)
#3 if it still doesn't work.
try making it a partition into two 100-GIG drives.

thats because windows won't use more than 127gb on a single partition. what you have to do is make sure that no partition is larger than 127gb. thats just the way windows is.

Same thing is going on w/my bro's hard drive. It's a 80 gig, but XP shows like 74.5 gigs.

no regulus, thats a different thing. an 80gb hard drive is a 74.5gb hard drive. 80gb is 74500mb. so thats wat ur going to see.

one partition can't be more that 127gb for windows.

whaaaaat. Then why don't the idiot's who sold him the comp put that on?!?! stuuuuuuuuuuupid.

lol, its called marketing.

they could put 74.500mb, but 80gb is going to sound alot better.

for the 200gb hard drive its actually closer to about 18500mb.
