Error 16389

I have a HP Pavillion, series 4000, Laptop, running Windows XP Home edition and have a TSST Corp CD/DVDW TS-532R, DVD/CD-ROM drive.

I have no problem reading any pre-recorded DVD or CD. However, when I try to write to a blank DVD disc, I am getting: “File System Error 16389”. Also, no matter what kind of blank disc I am use, both Total-size and Free-space on the disk are shown as zero. Can someone help me to solve this problem? Thank you very much for your speedy reply. i am running Window XP, Home edition. I simply click on "My Computer" and then CD Drive, and click on "Make a new folder", which results in "Error 16389". Any suggestion? Thanks again.

I believe you are using Windows packet writing software. This should help.

If you read the section on burning discs in XP you'll find XP doesn't support writing to DVD. You'll need other software.
