Drivers are usually like .sys, .inf, and sometimes .dll files. You need the unpacked files, a driver packaged as a zip or .exe installer won't work.
What you should do is open the .exe on another PC. HP usually uses softpaq .exe's which are like self-extracting .zip files. They store data on the C: drive, usually under "SWSetup". This is where you will find the .inf you can add using nlite. Either that or go to Intel's site and get their driver for their storage controller.
