Windows Vista Ultimate - Problem

Oddly enough i do. I cant delete it either. Taken up 3GB of space for nothing. Have to check how to fully disable Hibernation and delete that file. Found it.

powercfg.exe /hibernate off

That turns it off fully and gets rid of the hiberfil.sys file as well.


Yes, that's a variation of what I said above. Both will work. I turned it on and those missing items appeared in my menu just like your screen shot. But back off it goes. :laughing:
 
Ahh. Yes i see what you are saying now. I knew the option was there. Didnt realize that even if you turned it off via that option that the file was still there taking up space.

Nice catch. :D
 
Alright , did it all. Still using space, i'll go to XP, I'll move over to Vista when I don't need to scatter forums for dumb solutions, thanks for everyone's help.
 
Well Vista should have more than 20GB. Even the home page says 40GB of free space as Vista does eat up space. ;)
