Got it :)

I wonder what kind of crazy soft mods I can do with an HD 2900Pro 256bit (... /daydreams)

9800gtx+ is a tad better then 4850 and is around the same price now too, get which ever one is cheaper

Yeah the 4850 is cheaper but the 4870 is too expensive for my budget.

Noob question alert..

Wtf is AA? I keep seein that all over, dont know what it means. Yep, im a nub. Sorry.

Lawl thanks

Everything I've read and seen says the 9800GTX+ is better in most games. That's what I'm going with in a few weeks.

Pencil modding = using a pencil to etch an additional circuit. Used to make some dual-PCI-E boards SLI back in the day... also used on some graphics cards.

Folding = Folding@Home = see HERE

AA = anti-aliasing = "Anti-Aliasing is a method of fooling the eye that a jagged edge is really smooth."
What is Anti-Aliasing, how does it affect our graphics

So let me ask this, Is the 9800gtx+ faster than the entire 8 series, and is it faster than the 9800gtx?

Thanks for all the input

It is faster, its 5-10% faster, but its just as fast as a 9800GTX Superclocked, but the 9800GTX+ has a 55nm die over the 65nm (I think?) of the original 9800GTX

Yeah, does that help with cooling or does it up the power/ability of the card? I know the 45nm intels are better than the 65nm ones, but i dont know much more than that lol

Not exactly, depends on how good the core is, just because its smaller it doesn't necessarily mean its better. It just means its going to be less power hog and have lower temps
