i did with my q6700.. down to an e8500.. had a blast, ran 4.7ghz and took 9.9 sec super pi heregood fun
Yeh super PI only uses a single core. Was the e8500 watercooled to get that?

of course it was watercooled... i'd be an idiot to run 1.67v through a 45nm on air

IF you guys are only interested in gaming, you can just keep your q6600... You really won't notice a **** of a lot of difference. Like vedub said, at 3.2 your cpu is out of the equation. And a good Q6600 is able to reach 3.6ghz on air, so your not losing a helluva a lot.
