How involved is to upgrade motherboards? As far as experience, I have replaced video cards, modems, and RAM. What am I up against? THX

Changing a motherboard means physically taking out just about everything, then physically replacing the motherboard. This may mean a change of CPU and/or RAM depending on what u want and get. Because u have to change the CPU, or refit it, u will have to re-apply the thermal paste, and re-set the heatsink and fan. Then reattach all the other equipment (ram, gpu, hdds etc.)

The biggest part of this however, is that u will need to re-install your OS and all your programs and drivers, which also means backing up your files first as it will format your HDD - wiping it clean.

Still, its actually not that hard, and everyone here will be happy to help u through it.
