Memory speed - Can I replace slower w/faster?

I have a 1 GB stick of DDR2, 667MHz memory I want to use in place of my 256MB stick of DDR 400 memory.

Am I going to have trouble, or is it even doable?

Got a kid waiting to play a computer game - big eyes, cute and all at that, so any quick help would be really appreciated.

Dunno, but I just pulled the old stick out and the alignment notch is in a differet place, so I guess I'm screwed.

Guess I'm waiting for the stored to open tomorrow- thanks, though.

Go to Memory upgrades, flash media, and usb storage at Crucial.com

That will give you the type of RAM that is compatible with your PC. Then buy the kind that matches it.
