I am using a 8800GTS (G92) and am wondering what kind of performance increase I will see if I switch over to 4850's in Crossfire?

You don't need 4850 xfire. I play tf2 maxed out with 1920x1200 and your on a 22" so you will be fine for now.

I suggest you buy a single 4850 now, and you can xfire later if you feel like it.

Performance increase will be like going from a 8800 gts to a 9800gtx+ OC'd for one 4850. Xfire will be like going from an 8800gts to above a gtx280 when the game takes advantage of both cards.

Well if you use AA + AF then even a single 4850 will be quite a significant upgrade.... 2 4850s will be a massive upgrade.

But first, at what resolution do you game?

I use 1680x1050 also will I see a performance increase using a 4850 over a Evga G92 8800GTS

At 1680x1050 I wouldn't bother with crossfire....that's the resolution I game on and my 4850 eats it up even with 8xAA and 16xAF.

oh and watch the language buddy

i dont even see a huge benefit from my 8800gts 512 to a gtx280 @ 1920 x 1200. its there, but its not massive. put it this way...its not enough to make even me (lol) buy myself a 280. and i buy expensive stuff for small performance gains.

you buy expensive stuff for small performance gains :p let me step into this one!!!

and i will say the difference between 8800gts 512mb to a 9800gx2 (which is similar ballpark to 8800gts to a gtx280) was a big difference to me.. again depending on what you play... mainly being crysis... and even high resolution, high AA The Witcher

the 8800gts g92 is an excellent card though.. really nothing that challenges it but crysis (within reasonable resolution)
