when playing games, my computer will randomly shut down. it happens after about ten minutes of playing cod4 or like 5 mins of crysis. i just installed a new 9800 gtx+ so i'm thinking it maybe the problem. Secondly, i was wondering how 2X 8800gt sli would compare to a single 9800gtx+? thanks in advance!

do you have anything overclocked?
what psu do you have? sounds like a power isssue.
how hot does the card get under load?
did you uninstall old drivers before installing new?

Well i'm guessing the issue is the card over heating. I upped the fan speed and it pretty much fixed the problem untill i alt tabbed out of crysis and it did it again. Now i can't even boot windows. It gets to the screen where the vista loading screen and it freezes. ughhhhh!

Stay on the bios and leave it there, maybe its not the components overheating.

And also check your motherboard is detecting your card. maybe its loose

Check your RAM/CPU/ GPU to see if they are overheating or not seated correctly.

8800GT SLi = 9800GX2 so its more than a 9800GTX+ in games that can handle dual-GPU's
