Hey, I'm looking to spend between $1000-$1200 for parts for a new pc. I dont need a monitor, speakers, etc. Just the computer. I want to use the computer for gaming and multimedia. So please recommend me all the parts that I will need. Thanks

puddle jumper build is a bit pricey, I would just change the cpu to the q6600, and save 100 bucks or so.

He's look for a build that is between $1000-$1200. He wants performance not budget.

But if you do want to save you could cut the PSU down to the 550vx and the cpu as mentioned.

Otherwise puddle's build is great.

on tigerdirect OCZ dual channell pc6400 (800mhz) is 25 bucks for a gig. really approx 50 bucks, and there is no rebate. on newegg for 2 gigs it says 60 bucks before a rebate. tiger u dont have to mess around with the rebate

there's no way i'd buy a current (batch unknown) q6600 over a 9550 right now.
the 9550 will NO DOUBT run cooler and faster, unless you can overclock the 6600 quite a bit, which is hit or miss lately. a 9550 is WORTH 100 dollars more IMO.
i have a vx550 and it is a VERY good and stable PSU.
