Power Supply Help Needed

hello im anthony, im making a new system and i nead to now if the
Corsair HX620w 620w PSU is good for my system:

xfx nforce 790i , new quad core 3 ghz intel 4 gb ram nvidia geforce 9800gx2 ore gtx 280 plz tell me if its ok

The 620hx would be ok but I would get a 750tx instead.

If you haven't purchased your other parts yet I recommend getting a x48 with DDR2 ram and crossfire HD4850's.

^^ The 790i is a nvidia chipset. Only nvidia chipsets support sli while Intel chipsets support crossfire

A good x48 is the Asus Rampage Formula.

i would say go with

4870x2 (if have less money 4870/gtx280)
620hx (will run system fine)

crossfire 4850's would seem a waste now. Why crossfire older cards when there's one that can do much better by itself (even though might cost alot more, those are the kinda cards that keep their value (8800gtx).

if you insist in xfire, get a x48/38 but the asus rampage is pricey look for sumthin a bit cheaper like

dfi t2r - x38

note: x38 and x48 are the same. cept for native support on the 1600mhz cpu's. (who cares).

if u insist sli then go a 790i ftw! edition, cheaper and still offers most of the features you probably wont use. forget the 9800gx2, go with either a gtx280 or gtx260 for nividia.

but as of now 4870x2 is the best card by far. keep that in mind.

Stick with nvidia based boards. nvidia usually always has the best cards, and did until the 4870x2. Nvidia will reclaim their crown like always and be the best in the video card world. get the gtx280 or the 9800gx2. another option might be get two 9800GTX+ and SLI them.

Thats somewhat true. But SLi chipsets aren't very good, and the Intel ones are way better, with better overclocking abilities, plus 790i's still have that Video Corruption bug don't they?

That's not really true. It swings back and forth.
ATI was ahead with the 9800 vs Geforce FX, and they were ahead with X1950 vs 7900 (though the x1950's did run hot)
Nvidia was ahead with the 6800's vs X800's, and the 8800's/9800's in general vs 2900's/3800's (though multi-GPU ATI are often ahead).
