I know performance/dollar I am totally crazy, I understand this. I am looking for the best performance in a range of 1500 and not over 1600, I am very particular all of my mods have been at 1500 something and pretty decent. If you think I can get a better performance and not go over the 1599.99 let me know. All the links come from newegg, so you can probably hit me with a range of 1800 from newegg and I can get everything for around 1500 by just shopping around or using my rebates.

For the ram it is ddr21200 the mobo asks for ddr800 will it still work?
Also, I will overclock, but don't worry about the airflow I have that covered.

Other people on this forum will help you out with your parts. But you are wasting money on 1200mhz ram on a board that only supports 800mhz.

The ram will only run at 800mhz....

get a 4gb kit rather then 2 2x1gb kits.. a lot cheaper to do 2x2gb. also why a gtx280? what size monitor are you gonna be on.

if you can build a cheapo rig now and use it 2 months, ull be able to build a nehalem system with that kind of budget.

24in 19, 1920 x 1200 max resolution. Its the best fps on max games for less than 500.

get tx-2 thermal paste..also cut down on the overkill,,,psu is over kill, grab a 55vx or something. The gtx280 is not what i would get, i d get a 4870, or if u have the money a 4870x2, a 4870x2 is much better then the 280 in almost every case.

4870 not better 4870x2 over 500 dollars

u probably don't need the GTX280, a HD4870 will run stuff just fine. Get something similar to my rig and it'll fly.
