So this laptop did this on 98, and even when I upgraded it to 2k pro it does the same thing, on 2 different Linksys wireless usb adapters, and 1 pcmcia wireless g from linksys, all using their own utilities. Also ona belkin wireless usb. It'll connect to an AP, but refuses to connect to the internet. I've unloaded and reloaded their software, netsh, even unloaded and reloaded tcp/ip to no avail.

I am lost as to what is wrong with this thing.... Help?

Might be wrong forum. Mods feel free to move as necessary.

Hello,

Moved to Laptop area.

Are you sure the devices have a working Windows 2000 driver?

Cheers,
Mak

Hello,

I would then say try to use Driver Cleaner Pro to remove all drivers for the card if you can. From there install the latest drivers for it. This is to ensure that all the times you have installed the driver and all the multiple drivers you avhe installed is not creating a driver conflict.

Driver Cleaner Professional download from Guru3D.com

Cheers,
Mak

It may not be the adapters and its drivers at fault. It could be the networking not set up correctly. Dhcp was always a pain in Win98. Try setting up a static IP in the AP and use that IP in Win2k.
