Can I Mod my laser mouse to green laser?

My camera's external flash can pop balloons...

most do, some use lasers that cross over a little into visible red.

Yeah, that most definitely is not going to work, lol.

On topic of popping balloons... apparently you can use the laser diode inside a DVD player to replace the diode of one of those cheap 5$ laser pointers, and it will be powerful enough to pop balloons and burn stuff.

There's a how-to on Metacafe, but I'm too lazy to get it atm.
