Break in periods?

Does new hardware on a new build have any type of break in period?

For example, does the CPU improve as it is used more and the thermal paste adjusts or something similar?

Just wondering if I can expect temps or performance too improve any little bit, mostly because Ive heard of the thermal paste/cpu break in thing.

i think arctic silver 5 is the only thermal paste with a "break in" type period..
