I noticed that my laptop would not boot the bad battery was to blame as soon as I removed it, the problem was solved.
Also my desktop would take 10 minutes to boot it took hours to figure it out.the problem was the printer connected to the usb, when off the memory card reader built in would interfere with the memory check during booting.the problem goes away as soon as unplugging the printer.
