so i built a new rig...

and im thinking to myself.... should i have waited????

currently its in the process of being shipped from newegg and should be here on wednesday i hope.
well, here is a list on what i got.

Evga 780i sli motherboard

intell quad Q6600

evga gtx280 videocard

OCZ EliteXStream 800W PSU

4gb of G.Skill ram at 4-4-4-12 timing

seagate 740gb HD

i figure since the new cpus are coming out that are faster, i would just wait till the holidays to upgrade my mobo and cpu.... but will anything els be needed>? i also plan on another gtx280 card and go sli with it. im not a hardcore gamer, but i love my games... this build is mostly to get caught up with current technology and have a computer i can update and have long term ability to use.

came to 1,565.99 ... there was more then i said, was complete tower i built. nothing but that, and im going to be getting a new 24inch monitor.... i was thinking this one.....

i would have waited for nehalem, because now if you want nehalem you will have to get a new mobo, cpu, and ram (ddr3)

dont get upset but i would have waited too, you can always sell your parts when it comes to upgrading but i think that was a bad choice ;(

yea...you probably should of waited. It's a good rig, but when/if you upgrade to Nehalem you'll need new RAM, CPU, and mobo....

Knowing some nubs on eBay you could load it off for more

Test the board, CPU and RAM first, then sell it on eBay, keep the rest though
