about paying full price for one in December?

Yeah, but i put it to good usse and it has lifetime warranty anyways, so its all good.

I know 8800GTS 320/640 buyers are more steamed.

Soo.. is there much difference between the anufacturers of the 4850's?
Like.. is Visiontek better than His or Sapphire or vice versa ?

No they're all garbage.

For some reason you never see the amount of variation between ATi card manu's versus Nvidia ones.

They don't release non reference cards, they don't offer warranties longer than a year, and they only sell cards with red pcbs... *******s.

So the bottom line is no, they are all basically the same.

Alright going for the 8800 GT then.

Thanks.

I hope to hopefully overclock it, So all the extra stream processors or whatever from ATI are not worth it? or noticeable?

There is a noticeable difference in performance between the 8800gt and the 4850. Here is a review of the 4850 with benchmarks comparing it to the 8800gt.

AnandTech: The Radeon HD 4850 & 4870: AMD Wins at $199 and $299

I think he wants the 8800gt because its a $100 but thats the 256mb version ;)

so it'll be a little slower than the 8800gt showed there

Oh ya I forgot his friend is selling it to him.. I was thinking of the Gigabyte 8800gt 256mb one on sale at Newegg.. yes screw up for me..

Hard for me to remember every single person
