My brothers old computer is encountering an error once he turns on his PC.
It reads: Boot Disk Failure, Please Insert Boot Disk.

I'm not sure how this came to be, but he tells me that he tried to start it up with an old XP boot disk for a reason that is unknown to me, and when he did, it didn't work.
I've tried multiple things, such as using the boot disk again, or trying a restore. But once the PC is turned on and it brings us to the screen that says Compaq, F2 for setup and F10 for restore, it wont read a keyboard at this time. We have tried multiple keyboards and none of them are recognized until it brings us to the Boot Disk Failure screen.

EDIT: It does this every time. There is no way to even access the computer itself.
Any suggestions?

That means your hard disk is empty, and its attempting to boot from it.

Did you adjust your BIOS to read from the CD-ROM/DVD Drive first?

What types of Keyboard have you tried?

If you've tried PS/2 Keyboards try USB ones, if you've tried USB keyboards switch to another USB Port or get a PS/2 Keyboard
