Hi everyone.
I just got a new system and I was wondering if my PSU will have enough juice to keep things running nicely.

My PSU: Newegg.com - Thermaltake Purepower W0100RU 500W ATX 12V 2.0 Power Supply 115/ 230 V UL, CUL, TUV, FCC, and CB certification - Power Supplies
It has a pretty darn low 14A for 12v1 and 15A for 12v2.

My system: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200, Biostar Intel P43 MOBO, 2gb RAM, 8800 GS
Everything will be OCed to reasonable ranges.

I am going to play very demanding games (ex. Crysis) for multiple hours at a time.

My CPU will be cooled with an aftermarket HSF, either
Newegg.com - ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks
Newegg.com - Rosewill RCX-Z775-LX 92mm Ball CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks.

Oh, that brings up a new question.
These HSF has a difference of $10. (After tax and shipping costs)
Which one to get?

Thank you for reading.

The Z775-LX is better, Sora and I have been recommending it for a good bit, good bit better than an AF7

Do I really need a new PSU?
It's been serving my old system (AMD something like 2100+ CPU, 512mb, some weird mobo, nvidia 5200fx 256mb video card) for almsot 2 years.
I played HL2 episodes, TF2, Sins of a Solar Empire, BF2, Oblivion (with graphical mod), etc... Everything on Low settings, of course.

I really can't spend the $50 for a new PSU either. My dad is such a Scrooge!

no, not enough amps. u need to spend more on a psu, havent u read the techies bible

34amps isnt enough?

So tell me how is it possible that im running an E1200 system with
two 8800GT's overclocked on a 380w Earthwatts??

Oh, and the fsp group you listed has 34amps as well, and 30 watts less
of total power.

Yes I have.
But haven't you read that I'm on a budget?

Not to be rude, but ignore him.

Antec Earthwatts are mighty fine psu's, made by seasonic like most other
Antec supplies and can run at over 75% load 24/7 just fine.

Even the current psu you have with 29amps is plenty to run the new system you planned. The only reason i would get an earthwatts psu over it, is the higher efficiency, which will save you money in the long run.

You will not even be putting near that much load on it, at the most id say about 175watts.

But you can get a much better supply for the same amount of money, such as:

PC POWER and COOLING PPCS500 500W SLI Active Power Supply Retail at ZipZoomfly

Same psu costs much more on newegg, id jump on it if i were you.
