New Monitor

I think my 6 year old 19" CRT in going dying. I turned my computer on today and the monitor did not turn on, only blinking on/off light. Turned it on and got lots of psychedelic light displays but finally got image but hues are way off and "degaus" did nothing.

My question:

I am trying to hold out for Nehalem but I maybe forced to get a new monitor now. I want a 24" for my new build.

Will my present system drive a 24" display?

Dell 8200
P4 2.8
Nvidia 7600 gt

Any help would be appreciated and I hope the display last long enough to read any responses.

Shouldn't be a problem.

If your looking into getting an LCD i'de go with LG. Not sure about a 24 off the top of my head but i know we have a 22 at work that has 8000:1 Contrast and 2ms response. Ontop of a 3 year warranty. CDN it's $259 or something like that. =\

you're system will power a 24" almost any card can display a 24" but you most likely won't be able to play games on the native 24" resolution. dell and samsung are usually the 2 highest recommended makers for monitors including 24's
