I recently got a 750GB Hard drive off of New Egg 750GB, SATA2. My Hard drive with my OS on it is IDE and my motherboard is only SATA1. I checked in the BIOS and the BIOS can see the Hard drive but there is no sign of it in windows. Is there anything I can do to get it working? It didn't come with one of those things (I can't remember ATM) that allow you to set it as cable select master or anything.
New HDD is not recognised in windows.

Hello,
When you get a new drive it is in RAW format which is not recognized by Windows. You need to format it for Windows to be able to see, recognize it and use it. Can possibly do this thru the Disk Management screen. If not use GParted.
