Ok heres my recommendations,

You don't have to get a q9550, the q6600 will do fine too if you overclock, and is over half the price...

Get the Corsair 750tx, its better for the extra $10:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CE, CB, TUV, FCC, CCC - Power Supplies

The Killer NIC was a gimmick from the beginning, stick with OnBoard

Get this RAM:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR XMS2 DHX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Don't spend that much for an outdated OS, you could easily get Vista Home Premium

VelociRaptors are not worth it, they are proven to have little performance increase, and its $1 per Gigabyte, stick with something like a Western Digital 640gb Drive

Since you have an X48 board, consider an ATi card like an HD 4870 or HD 4870X2 (coming soon, the HD 4870X2 will outperform the 9800GX2 easily, it probably will overdo the GTX280 too [just based on the preview benchmarks so far])

Also if you're set on nVidia move to their GTX280 if you really want the extra performance

So no killer? I remember people saying it reduced theyre ping a lot, and increase FPS on WoW. How is that a gimic? Also what results from having a better power supply

Extra power, in case you want to overclock, or add a second HD 4870 or HD 4870X2 or something in the Future, or maybe an extra 9800gx2 or GTX280 if you're staying nVidia

What type of hard drive would the motherboard support SATA or ATA, i cant find it on the page

Nvm I found it

Not if you want the Build to last for a while, like I said in my other post, Games are somewhat Quad-Intensive (as in they can load all 4 cores of a Quad-Core), games are going more and more Quad-Intensive, so for a future proof build that would be better

the games are allready here almost gears of war last night was at 41% 63% 31% 35% load on my 4 cores, that is split very evenly imo. i didnt have any back round aps running i always close everything and clean up my task bar when i game.

uhmmm if i'm right the 9800gx2 will be useless on a crossfire support only board ...cause don't you have to have a nvidia chipset for it to work?

get vista 64bit, because with a gx2 card and 4gb of ram you will probably see less than 3gb of RAM

Thats why I recommended the HD 4870X2/HD 4870

But you can still enable SLI on it without an SLI chipset, its just SLI on one card, in the Forceware Utility it still lets you enable it

So i need a mother board with a NVIDIA chipset to use my graphics card? Sorry im really new to the hardware, and would i need a sound card? or is there really no point in getting one? And im getting XP because lets see... VISTA SUCKS

No thats not true

Since into music, a good sound card will be fine, unfortunately I know crap in that section
