You only need one resister on each LED.

I still think you'd get much better results with ELwire though. LED's won't really work, unless you have a diffuser or some sort.

What are the hots and ground on the keyboard cable? is it red hot (positive) and black ground (negative)?

okay cool. its a ps2 though which i keep forgetting about but it should be the same.. everything is installed and what not i just have to find the hot and ground to wire it to.

I don't think PS2 would have enough current to do what you want.

If it were me, I would find an old USB cord and just strip it down and use that for the power.

great idea. but i bought the LED's and resistors according to the keyboard. but yea i could do that and then i could just throw some heat shrink tube around everything and walla

After doing some Google'ing, I see that I am apparently wrong. The PS/2 port has 5V, just like USB, at least according to my source.

Also shows a pin-out with the power and ground wires. If you have a multi-meter, and maybe an amp meter, you can check the power specs of the PS/2 port.

LOL they should make little gadgets that are powered off the PS/2 port. never use them for anything else anyways.
