Ok heres what I got right now:

8800GS/ 9600GSO
HD 3850
HD 4850
HD 4870
9600GT
HD 3870
8800GT 512mb/256mb
8800GTS G92
9800GTX
HD 3870X2
GTX 260
8800GTX
8800Ultra
9800GX2
GTX 280

Feel free for it to keep on coming.. needs A LOT of work.. (I guess we'll do this the same way I did the Techies Bible, we'll start with a worklog with just ideas.. then I'll create the actual thread and everybody who actually helped gets credit for doing it)

Right now I just factored in the somewhat-current gen cards (Higher end G80's to current)... like I said this is really crappy.. but I'll move this to another thread in a second.. (good thing the move posts thing works ;))

Shouldn't the HD 3870 be above the 9600gt since the 3870 is slightly faster and cheaper?

Works for me.. Maroon always pointed out that 9600gt's were cheaper...

but since that HD 3870 is now cheaper on Newegg.. why not.. works for me..

lol, u didnt change anything. switch the 3870 around with the 9600gt.

And why is the 9800gtx so low on that list?
Newegg.com - ZOTAC ZT-98XES2P-FSP GeForce 9800 GTX(G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
Free shipping and cheaper then most 4850's.
Seriously it's only a few dollars away from the 4850 and still performs close to the 4850 (it's not a bad card option still and i bet the price will just get lower for people). I think it should be either infront of the 4870 or right below it.

and your list is based on opinon, we need fps/$ to make this list.

Well there are many Price/Performance charts on Extremetech when they review new cards (like HD 4850/70)

7300gt sucked... i think the 6800gs is better

if i remember right 6800gs/gt is close to 7600gt

The 7300gt was actually a lower clocked 7600gs, they were based off the core. All you needed to do was oc it, and you got a 7600gs.

I think the 7300gt is way behind the 8500gt/6800gs, perhaps I am wrong.

7600GT
HD2600Pro
X850XT/XTPE
X800XT/XTPE
6800Ultra/EE
6800GT
6800GS
X800XL
X850Pro
X800pro
X800GTO/GTO2
8500GT
X1650GT
X1650Pro
X1600XT
7600GS

This seems pretty acurate.

Well, i had both the 7300gt and 8500gt, and found equal performance from both. And the X1650XT is more powerful than the pro and gt, and can even beat a 7600gt....wow the list is jacked.

i too had the 7300gt.. and it did not come anywhere near my 6800gs

and even if it is the same core of the 7600gt.. those were still just 6800 level anyway

the 7300gt could not handle cs the way the 6800 did.. maybe a 6800 vanilla.. but not a gt

SPECS AT A GLANCE
Video Card e-GeForce 7300GT 512MB
Part Number 512-P2-N447-LX
Core Clock Speed 350MHz
Pixel Pipelines 8
Memory Clock Speed 532MHz
Memory Bandwidth 8.51GB/sec
Bus PCI-E
Interface VGA, DVI-I, HDTV

8 pixel piplines does not come close to that of a 6800gs

the gs had 33% more pixel pipelines (meaning 12)

and the 7600 gt's had more pipelines than 8... and in those days.. pipelines were EVERYTHING in terms of performanace

7600gt:
GPU GeForce 7600GT
Core clock 560MHz
PixelPipelines 12
Memory Clock 1400MHz(effective)
Memory Size 256MB
Memory Interface 128-bit
Memory Type GDDR3

6800gs:
GPU GeForce 6800GS
Core clock 425MHz
PixelPipelines 12
Memory Clock 1000MHz
Memory Size 256MB
Memory Interface 256-bit
Memory Type GDDR3

7300gt:
GPU GeForce 7300GT
Core clock 350MHz
PixelPipelines 8
Memory Clock 666MHz
Memory Size 256MB
Memory Interface 128-bit
Memory Type GDDR2

it is impossible for a 7300gt to be as good as a 6800gs with less pipeliness and gddr2.. and a smaller memory interface

umm yes you are right the 8500GT and 7300GT have similar performance but no they are not the same. Perhaps playing graphical games with cards that are very weak it's hard to tell the difference between them. That's like taking a an 8800GTX and then comparing it to a 7900GTX....sure they aren't that far apart on the list but there is a large performance difference in games of today with them.

However cards as weak as the 8500GT/7300GT may seem similar playing graphic games but because the other cards are so close to each other how far they are on the list doesn't mean much.

ALSO the X1650XT IS higher than the 7600GT/GS and the X1650PRO....wtf?

The list is fine...

EDIT: also btw if you look ay benchmarks the 8500GT got around the same fps as a 7600gt with the 8500gt being a little more powerful on average....the 7300gt isn't even close to the performance of a 7600gt honestly in older games which if slower than the 8500gt means the 7300gt shouldnt even be considered equal to the 8500gt. However because on newer games the 8500gt may get like 15 fps and the 7300gt possibly could get 13....doesnt seem like much but take them to doom 3 and you will see 20-30 difference in fps. Games more their power.
