This will be my first attempt at building a server, although I have built regular and gaming PC's. I need this to monitor and record 25 ip cameras, which is why there is so much HDD. I plan to put the HDD's in a RAID-5 array. I'm not sure if this system is over kill though? All I know is I'm using a $500 Walmart Acer as temporary, and the 2ghz AMD dual core and 320GB HDD is not cutting it. Only getting 1.2 fps out of the cameras and CPU usage is pegged at 100%, and I need this to operate 24/7 as part of a surveillance/security system. Any advice/opinions appreciated. :D

Bump

I caught 1 mistake I made(I think) I had SDRAM selected before but I read that waht I need is FB-DIMM, so I got that. I also changed my optical drive from an IDE model to a SATA model. Also changed my hard drived because A lot of the reviews of the seagates said they kicked a lot of S.M.A.R.T. errors. Some of the other drives say that too though, so not sure what kind of drives to get?
