the 9800gtx evga version is same price as the 4850 now. So its better bang for your buck.

199.99 / 80.1 = $2.497 per frame

199.99 / 75 = $2.667 per frame

But that is only in Bio Shock. Overall the 4850 is still a better deal. If Bio Shock was the only game you played things would be different. Some of us, including myself, don't even own that game.

Right, well thats why I always have to stipulate for whatever game and settings people post, because its very wrong to make broad statements about any card...

Hey maroon, the GTX 280 is too expensive for it's performence. :p

650 USD/96.2 FPS == 6.756 USD per FPS

200 USD/75 FPS == 2.666 USD per FPS

Using the graph YOU posted, you can clearly see why.

Sorry, I just, I just had too.. :)

Say, how much will the 9800GTX+ cost? I bet it will also be too expensive for it's performence. :)
I think Nvidia decided to lower the price from that.. can't remember how much, but it still leaves the ATI cards at a significant price advantage....

I think the problem with GT200 is that it is a big GPU (about twice the area of RV770), and costs more to make... so Nvidia have to have it priced higher unfortunately.

I think I heard they are planning a die shrink of GT200 though, which should improve the situation for them...

It's gonna be the 9800 GT or something.... should be nice.

So does anyone know if you can throw an accelero s1 rev2 onto a 4850/4870?
