Alright I'm trying to convince my parents to buy a new computer (university payments, i'm poor, etc) but they don't trust me to buy the parts seperately to build the computer myself and they want to have the warranty and tech support that would come by buying from stores (even though I told them it's pretty much useless). I've got some ideas of some good ones

I plan to replace the power supply and graphics cards with better ones once I get some cash but which one is better? Or should I buy from a different store (must be in Canada)? Or should I keep trying to convince them? Thanks

I saw these iBuypower computers on Tiger Direct and was impressed. So I checked out the iBuypower.com website and for a little more money, they'll custom build and offer a 3 year limited warranty instead of only 1 from TD. They have an impressive array of features to choose from like ASUS MB's, Coolermaster cases etc... and also incentives like free shipping.

iBuypower Gamer 901-GE Intel Gaming Desktop PC - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, 2GB DDR2-800, 250GB, NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS 512MB, DVDRW, 420W, Vista Home Premium 901GE at TigerDirect.com

To see all of the iBuypower models @TD:

Check out the iBuypower.com home website and show your parents:

Note that some have complained about Acer's customer service.

do not buy from ibuypower. it's as bad as alien ware they up the price a lot. at nicx they are the same prices as buying the components separately

Ya NCIX has the option of assembling it for a little more...

Nice feature too same for NCIXUS, I remember showing it here sometime like a year back or so.. (idk if they still have this feature though)

EDIT they still do:

NCIX - Gaming pc, gaming computer

Use the Advanced Options and choose other stuff

Not to mention they use crappy parts and try to pawn them off as a "gaming" machine.

They use a fast processor, good memory, and then they cheap out and use an 8400GS??? What kind of gaming could anyone do on that piece of crap video card?!? At least in my builds I use parts best for actual "gaming" and not inferior parts like iBuyPower.
